What a cheek Paul Smith Ltd. have. I suggest we send them an email telling them what we think.
I wonder if the media might be interested?
-
So we should! I hate it when the little guy gets trampled on by the big guys expensive lawyers!! Its just common courtesy to ask permission or even offer to pay a fee but this is out right stealing! So people like us loose a valuable source of information so Mr Smith can sell a few suits!
Grrr.....

I'm astounded that Paul Smith Ltd have the cheek to do such a thing. They wouldn't like it if someone stole some of their work and then used it to advertise.
-
Absolutely disgusting and I shall be emailing Paul Smith - whoever he might be - to tell him so >:(

I can't say i am surprised, I'm sure this happens a lot.
Its people that use the map for the greater good that suffer and these big company's don't care about that, its all about money and image regardless of who gets in the way! They shouldn't be allowed to get away with it, one thing i can liken it to is when you spend a lot of time, money and effort on your tree only for someone to go steal it all from a site you might have it on without so much as a thank you! >:(

Due to public pressure the company involved have apparently apologized!

Arr so public pressure can work sometimes even if we don't get the map back.
Kerry :(

Seems so, I guess the damage has been done tho! Shame about the map! :(

Public pressure does work wonders ... it's a great pity the public don't apply pressure more often.
MAPCO also have a MySpace page www.myspace.com/archivemaps
