I'm still trying to find out who CARRINGTON WILSON really is. It would seem that he died 20 Feb 1867 at Langham, Essex. His death seems to registered as CHARLES CARRINGTON WILSON, but his obituary is as CARRINGTON WILSON.
In the 1861 census he seems to appear as CARRINGTON WILSON, and have been born in St Osyth, Essex.
Is there anyone out there who has come across this person, and who knows where he was born, and who his parents were.
I would be grateful for any information.

Hi Carol
I have looked with no success, including Hugh Wallis site with middle names, I suspect the best idea would be to either visit or enlist help to look at St Osyth parish church for baptism records circa 1800, they are lodged in Chelmsford. St Osyth church is St Peter and St Paul and the fiche coveres the date in question
I wish I could be of more help but I have had no success so far, don't give up, someone might ome up with something
Just as a matter of interest I put in Carrington as a christian name in freebmd.rootsweb and there were quite a few that came up, one marriage in 1841 didn't have a cross reference, it took place in Billericay reg dist, also a death in Sept 1851 Tendring, could this have been his father' death, no age shown?, I have a feeling Tendring covers St Osyth, just a thought

Thanks for the suggestions, another of CARRINGTON's descendants has a copy of the St Osyth parish records and has as yet been unable to find his baptism, although at that time we were looking for Carrington & not Charles.
What I had not come across was the death in 1851 of another Carrington, and that is a possibility as it takes us back to the area around Kirby le Soken, which fits in with what I do know.
In case any one is interested I'm descended from Ann Lord, her mother was Martha Lord, and according to the bastardly report the father was Carrington Wilson, late of Kirby, a seedsman. When I found this I thought that with such an unusual name it would be easy, little did I know what a can of worms it would unearth. From a few Wilson wills I have discovered that there were numerous illegitimate children, as well as name changes. For instance a gentleman who seems to have a close link with Ann & Martha Lord, was Barnabas Wilson, but from a will I've discovered his name was originally Barnabas Gentry.
Any comments would be most welcome.

I've just checked the Great Bromley census for 1851 and the Carrington there was born in Ipswich, so I think that the only likely one is the Charles/Carrington who died in 1867.

Found this marriage on Boyds index.
1814 / WILSON BARNABAS / DAVY MARY / CHELMSFORD / ESSEX

Thanks for that, I think that some how or other I've got to try and prove which Carrington is which. But since there were certainly more than two it may be an impossible task. The wills I have mention at least one but have so far provided no clues as to the one who is my ancestor.
I feel almost certain that he is actually the brother of Barnabas Wilson/Gentry who is mentioned in John Wilson's will dated 1813, but have no proof, as yet!!
