-
I just had a look and could not find Siggers in the index.

There's a will at Chelmsford of Isaac Siggers of Mistley Thorn, Essex, master mariner, 1832.
I don't have a subscription to SEAX, but by enlarging the will I think I was able to pick out the names:
Sons Isaac and John
Daughters Rachel(?) Humphreys, Mary Ann Norfolk, Sarah Siggers, Eliza Siggers, Hannah Siggers
-
Ref will of Isaac Siggers, the first daughter mentioned is Elizabeth Humphreys

Essex Record Office Parish Registers
John Siggers born circa 1835 I haven't found in the Mistley registers to date.
However his sister Mary Anne was baptized there 12 February 1837 daughter of John Siggers and Mary. father is a sailor.
John Siggers married Mary Whaley 14 June 1834 both of Mistley witness Eliza Siggers (his sister) and Thomas James.
John was buried 12 May 1837 age 27 at St. Mary' Mistley. His widow then married a Charles Southgate.
Ref 1851 census Mistley where John and Mary Anne are listed as son and daughter in law, nowadays we would say step son/daughter, of Charles Southagte.
John baptized 20 May 1810 buried 12 May 1837 is the son of Isaac and Elizabeth Seaggers (sic)
his will of 1832 mentioned in previous post.

Found him, this is a transcription only no image so check original parish register.
Washbrook Suffolk
John born 13 October 1834 bap 12 April 1835 son of John Siggers and Mary Whaley.

In family search there's a burial of an Isaac Siggers on 3 April 1825 in Bradfield, Essex. This is about a mile from Mistley. His age was 85, so born 1740. The Isaac Siggers who died in 1842 had children starting about 1810, so he would have been born about 1770-1780.

Thank You so much guys this is all fascinating stuff I wonder with there being mentions of sailors if this is the reason there was a move to Hartlepool as that is a coast town and if maybe before Essex if the family came from somewhere else possibly overseas.
-
I don't know what the origin of the family is, but there were people with this surname in Essex back to the 1600s at least, maybe back to the 1400s if the spelling with Syger is the same family.
The place to start is the Essex archives. You can search their records here:
