I'd like to say what a great day out we had. I'd like to, but can't. It was the worst day out I've ever had!
None of us liked each other, the venues were rubbish, meal was horrible and we all went home sober!
Then there's the truth!!
What a fantastic day and evening.
Thanks Syb, well done for organising it and thanks to everyone that made an appearance - you all added to the day and night in your own way.

hi everyone, just want to say thanks to you all for a great day yesterday it was great to meet you all, and everyone made me most welcome , i had a wander down to botanic gardens but couldnt find anyone were you all nursing hangovers l.o.l. the weather was bad ( i didnt expect anyone to be there ) i have now wandered down to my west end office this afternoon (hillhead library ) l.o.l hope you all have safe journey home and special thanks to sybil for all the arrangements cheers allan (harrywrag )

Sorry about The Botanics. Because of the weather it was cancelled last minute.
Matt and I wandered into town and met up with Val, Syb and Brenda and we went to The Remembrance Service in George Square.
We got rained and hailed on but compared to what the people we were remembering went through......it puts it in perspective!

On train going home now. Seems like only yesterday we were all meeting up :D
Just want to say what a great time I had in all your company touring Glasgow's finest museums...and pubs...and restaurants...and pubs...
Joking aside it was a really good weekend and I will definitely be at the next one!
Will post a few of my photos later tonight, but to tie in with what pancho said about Strictly Come Dancing, it was "Nice to see you, to see you, nice!"

Once again a fantastic weekend in Glasgow! Great company, good food and good pubs.

Sorry i did not make the dinner felt bad about not spending night with my uncle as i wont see him for a few years again he always does show up at the most akward times.
I had a really nice time in the morning and everyone was lovely and friendly. It was nice meeting people with a similar interest to me. Next time their is a meet i will definatly put my name down for it.
I am glad to see you all had a blast over the weekend and i'm glad too have met some of you. ;D

It was superb Mainey. Being a Glaswegian, I'm obviously biased but Glasgow is an amazing city if you like Victorian architecture. In fact, it's an amazing city in general. Does not deserve the bad reputation that is attached to it a lot of the time. Have you ever been over?

Alas, like Shona , I am uncertain of how to upload pics , as I have a new camera, it does not help! If Dave would like to offer any suggestions ,that would be great!
I haven't been on earlier, as we have taken on our daughter Gemma's cat yesterday. Wasn't really fair that the wee guy was left on his own for long spells.

I usually shy away from meeting up with "strangers" but have been to both of the Glasgow Meets and can thoroughly recommend getting together with your wonderful, friendly and welcoming fellow Rootschatters ;D

I would absolutely love to - although some years ago I did fall in love with London, so not sure where I would best like to stay. Unfortunately under the current laws, I couldn't return permanently, but I do hope to return one day for a visit to all those places of my roots - see you then 8)

I think perhaps I didn't understand the format of the weekend and thought you might be sharing tips on finding our ancesters and I get all mine from here lol ;D

Oh it was our first car too Betty...though ours was second hand ....very second hand (... more like 8th hand ::) ) in fact you had to shut the passenger door from the outside hence I was always ushered into the car by OH holding the door...not because he was the perfect gent ...which he is .... but because it would not close from the insideand he had to invariably SLAM it !!! Gosh doesn't it look ....er quaint ? :-X ;D

Hi there you lot,
Having looked thru all the pages several times, it seems you lot had one fantastic time up north.
Our meet in Melbourne was much smaller, yet each had one heck of a good time. Keep up the good with the good times of meeting and sharing.
Regards to you all and esp to those I have had the privilege to meet here in Australia.
