Hi

William Frederick was the brother of my great grandmother Christina Andrews.  He was married to Helena Jeffers b. 1868.  I went to the research his service records at the National Archive but wasn't able to find anything.

Do you have any further information?

Julie

Hi,

William Frederick Andrews was my great Grandfather.  In terms of his military service, I know that he held the rank of Sergeant with the Sherwood Foresters (45th Regiment, 1st Battalion).  At one point the Regiment was posted to Malta and William took his family with him (William and Helena's youngest son James was born in Malta).  When the regiment was posted to South Africa, William sent his family back to England.  I am not sure exactly when he left the military, but I know that it was before 1909.

I haven't found any service records....yet, but I haven't given up hope.  I know that he had a military pension, so there must be records somewhere out there.

Cheers, Yvonne
