Post by: alblas on Saturday 08 November 08 06:43 GMT (UK)
Hi
Has anyone come across a marriage between a Rudden and possibly a Susan McMahon.I have no dates but would put it around 1860.
I know it's a long shot but you never know.I might just get lucky :)
Many thanks
Anna

Have you ever found anything out on the Rudden's? Mine came from Cavan/Monaghan area and lived there then.

Looking for info on Rudden's from that area. My great-grandfather John Rudden born about 1851. He was married to Susan Reilly. A Peter Rudden and  Pat Rudden appear as godfathers to 2 of John and Susan's children. The children were born in the 1870's and the family left Ireland in late 1870's.

Thanks for your reply.
I still haven't been able to match my Susan Rudden with anyone.I have so little to go on.The names James Rudden and Susan McMahon were on her death certificate that was filled in by her son.Maybe he got the first names wrong.I keep thinking I am missing something about her as it seems strange that she has her first and only child when she is around 30 and is in a workhouse unmarried.
I need to find one of those people who talk to dead people, maybe then I'll get all the answers about my mystery Susan :)
Cheers Anna

Not sure NJ... I have no other information on her. It is possible that she came from that part of Monaghan. If you have any further information I would be very grateful to hear from you.

Sorry to mislead. My Catherine was not born until 1870, a daughter of Peter McMahon and Catherine McKenna of Glaslough. There are a lot of McMahons in the Emyvale area.
