Would any kind soul out there be able to find any information on the Logan family ..........? My grandfather Henry William Nassau Logan was born in Ravensdale 12 July 1878 and his father was called William and his mother Charlotte Ann Burns. Henry's brother John married Louisa Love, they had various children (details of whom I already have) and they emigrated to the USA in 1929. Henry came to the UK in 1901 and he met and married my grandmother. Basically I'm interested to know whether Henry had any other siblings apart from John and any information at all on his parents William and Charlotte.
Thanking you in advance.............!!!
Kind regards,
Kim

By the way Audrey, I have Henry's birth certificate and so can be pretty sure his birth was July 1878! I have John's dob as 12 Dec 1878, I'm not sure where I got that date from (?) but it obviously can't be correct - can you find his correct dob?
Thanks for your time,
Regards,
Kim

Thank you very much for your time, Henry William's 3rd name is definitely NASSAU as I have his birth certificate! I'm surprised that there is no information for John............... ?? Anyway, bless you for helping, it's all so exciting...........
Kind regards,
Kim

Not all Irish births 1864-c1882 are in IGI so it's not surprising that John isn't listed. Agree that Henry William's other name should be Nassau (perhaps 'William Nassau' chosen because he was born 12th July) but just put it down the way it is in IGI.

Hello. I'm a bit late for this discussion but I have just received a death certificate of my great aunt in Buffalo, New York. It states she was born in Ravensdale Co Louth. She would appear to be a sister of another great aunt.
Bridget Sheerin nee Trainor, b Dec 1860, died February 1917 in Buffalo. Her parents were Bernard and Margaret Trainor, just Ireland for their birthplace
The other aunt was Margaret Sheerin nee Trainor, b1868, died 1954 in New Jersey
Is there any way of checking the parish records?
I would be grateful for any help or direction
Thank you, Barbara

Hello Audrey. Yes this helps a lot! Did you see any Bridget in Ravensdale? The family must have moved from Scotstown after her birth, there's also a Hugh Trainor b1840 in Castletown Parish that was a godfather 1895 in Philadelphia to Margaret Trainor nee Sheerin's daughter. I found him in the IGI but his mother is Mary McAlister though his father is Bernard Traynor
I have a problem and a mystery with these Trainors but now I have something to go on
Thank you very much
