Hello
In 1887 Robert John Kilpatrick married Charlotte King.
1887/C1279 Robert John Kilpatrick married Charlotte Isabella King in 1887.
They had nine children
1888/C7293 Kilpatrick Robert John,
1889/C599 Kilpatrick Charlotte Isabella
1890/C829 Kilpatrick Thomas James
1893/C914 Kilpatrick Walter Stewart King
1895/C845 Kilpatrick Agnes Elizabeth Frances
1900/C2830 Kilpatrick Edith May
1901/C2744 Kilpatrick William Joseph
1903/C7004 Kilpatrick Ethel Maud died 1903
1905/C7566 Kilpatrick Nathaniel Irvine King
Is there any way of finding out where in Queensland they were born.
I am hoping (fingers crossed ) it is Maryborough :)
Would appreciate any assistance.
Many thanks

Hi Daizi,
Thanks for responding to my posting. Pity we cannot

Hello there
the Indexs do not show places the C before the registration number denotes Country meaning outside of the Brisbane Area The B denotes Brisbane area.

Hi Jenn
Yes I knew that C denoted country but wouldnt it be great if they could break it down a wee bit.
Mind you the online index does give mother's name which is great.
I am going to see if anyone has access to Electoral rolls as this should
confirm that I am on the right track.
How is up your way, getting a bit hot down here, we are supposed to be getting storms over the weekend.

Hi Jacquie T
Many thanks for all that information, it certainly appears
to be some of the children.
I had not been able to find further info on Agnes, I notice
that you found her in Rockhampton in 1922. Could you possibly
give me the details please.
bye for now

Hello Mariac
Many many thanks for all that fantastic information you
have given me on both my postings :) :)
It is truly amazing the amount of time and assistance you great
people on RC give.
I have gone from just a smattering of cryptic notes to some
tangible evidence in less than a few hours.
Kind regards

On Robert's Police Service History his transfers are
14.01.1885 Maryborough
01.05.1866 Kilkivan
05.01.1887 Gympie
10.6.1888 Maryborough
01.02.1889 Bundaberg
19.04.1897 Wallangarra
09.05 1899 Warwick
08.06.1899 Yangan
28.01.1903 Maryborough
I compared these transfers with the given year of birth and estimated places of birth.
We appear to have much in common Walter Stewart King 1825 was my GGGrandfather .

Hello Selbourne
When I first posted my enquiry on RC in 2008 I knew very little about the Kilpatrick /King lineage. Needless to say that over the last couple of years I have been able to find out a lot about the both families. You say Walter Stewart King 1825 is your GGGrandfather which is great as I am helping a family member research this lineage.
If you want to answer this thread ( I believe you cannot personal message unless you have three postings) I will be more than happy to share what I have.

Hello eilidh,
As you can see I am new to RootsChat and I'm not really computer literate so I am not sure how to do things.
I would love to be able to exchange information with you as I have not really come in contact with anyone interested in the King Family and their decendants. My family line is from the Walter Stewart Kings, 1826.1853 and 1882 till my grandfather only had two daughters , my mother being the eldest.
I have done some research but I know that there is much more to be done.

Hi Selbourne
Good to hear back from you, if you reply to this message I will be able to send you a personal message with my email address. I have done extensive research on the family in Ireland, USA and Australia.
Looking forward to exchanging family history with you :)

Hello again Eilidh,
You will never know how happy you message made me. I found a small clipping about Walter (1 ) in a newspaper following his death that said he been in America during the Civil War and had not the slightest idea on how to follow up on that information. So looking forward to hearing from you again.
