Hello all
Does anyone out there have any information on the Gage family.
John/Jack Gage we think had a Boxing Booth, he was married to "Harriet", the only known children were John, Lily May, Violet, Daisy and Bessie. We believe there are more as the 1901 census return suggests but they are not known to us, we also think that "Bessie" married, had a daughter who eventually married the actor Alfred Marks her name was Paddie/Paddy O'Neil.
Any info will be gratefully recieved
Thank you
Liz

Hi Liz ...
Not sure about this marriage for John Green to a Margaret ...I did note that she was much younger than him, so this could be his second wife;
John GREEN = Margaretta THOMAS
Sept q 1840
Hereford Herefordshire, Hereford and Worcester, Monmouthshire
Vol 26 p 176
right place as margaret was born Hereford!
oo maybe not ...just found them on the 1841
Monmouth
John Green 50 cabinet maker Not born in county
Margaret 30 born in county ...although Margaret of 1851 says b hereford :-\
Henry 5 Born in county
james 3 BIC
Selina 1
john Walby 40 ag lab BIC
okay it looks like Henry 5 above must have died as there is another henry in the 1851 census aged 9 ...found this on IGI extracted record
HENRY PATRICK GREEN chr; 22 MAR 1843 Monmouth
s/o JOHN LINDLEY GREEN and Margaret
ummm will keep looking around.

Hiya deb
we don't know much about the green family yet it's a bit of a sidetrack at this stage, but what we do know is Margaret's maiden name was Walby, so to add credence to your 1841 they must have her brother living with them.
This family history lark is fun
