Hi,
Unable to find either Hubert or Gurtrude/Gertrude Butler going out to Aus.
They could well both have married in England.
There is only this one entry which doesnt match very well.
Mstr H BUTLER age 10,
sailed on the Otranto 3rd May 1933 from London, one of many children sent by the
Child Emigration Society, Public Assistance Commitee House, 115 Strand WC2.
Best I can do.

His Mother was born in Alexandria Egypt & Gertie a first cousin with 'Kate' her Auntie. She moved to England in the 1950s and settled here. Please do make contact if you are still using this site. Hi Julie
There are four Gertrude Butlers on the electoral roll in Victoria in the greater Melbourne area between 1960-1980: Gertrude Veronica Butler; Gertrude Thelma Butler; Gertrude Ellen Butler and a woman simply known as 'Gertrude Butler'. On top of this there are a number of women with the surname Butler and middle name "Gertrude" on the Victorian electoral roll for this period.
There is for example an Elsie Gertrude Butler on the roll in 1963 and 1967 and 1968 in Dandenong, Victoria at 53 Scott St., Dandenong. Nobody of voting age is listed as living with her with the same surname in any of these listings.
I suggest this may be Elsie Gertrude's death certificate, she died in 1970 (if indeed, she is your relative)

There are also some very early listings for men with "Howard Butler" in their name on the Victoria electoral roll, the only ones available:
Thomas Howard Butler, 1928, Murtoa, Wimmera, Victoria
Sidney Howard Butler, 1909, Yea, Mernda, Victoria
Sydney Howard Butler, 1914, Sea Lake, Wimmera, Victoria
Sydney Howard Butler, 1909, Ferntree Gully, Flinders, Victoria
Sidney Howard Kinglake Butler, 1913, Yea, Indi, Victoria
Sidney Howard Butler, 1912, Yea, Mernda, Victoria
Sydney Howard Butler, 1913, Ferntree Gully, Flinders, Victoria
Sidney Howard Butler, 1909, Yea, Mernda, Victoria
Sydney Howard Butler, 1903, Ferntree Gully, Mernda, Victoria
I don't know if any of these would match your family.
Unfortunately I can't find a Howard Butler on the roll living in Dandenong in more modern times.
I believe however, this must be his death certificate, he is listed as being born in Thornbury, England, and dying in 1961 in Dandenong:

Dear Gill
I am related to Howard via his parents Henry and Caroline Bevan, Caroline's parents Thomas and Ann Parnell. I am a direct descendant of Anne's brother Thomas.
