Title: Lookup John Trumper Sledge in 1841-51 census.

Please could someone lookup for me in the London area, John Trumper Sledge;from the Abney Park Cemetery Trust Index:-20 jun 1857,49y,018519,C04,1S08; therefore he was born 1808. AS he was my ggfather any information would be a Great help ! Regards dreamer.

Are you still looking for information?  I'm sorry no-one has answered your rather old request.

I have looked at the 1851 Bethnal green and Whitechapel indexes and have found no Sledge or Trumper

I did find some Trumpers in the surname only indexes for St George in the East

Ref HO 107/1549 folio 214
HO 107/1548 folio 33

Someone should check these references on the actual census for you

It might be a good idea to obtain his death certifcate which would give you an address to check

June ¼  1857  Islington  1b  133

I looked at the 1851 Islington census surname index but couod find no John Trumper Sledge but I did find this in the 1841, the age would be about right for a birth c 1808

HO107/724  book 10  folio 9
Aldersgate

John Sledge  age 33  Clerk born in county  Yes
Mary age 30   b in c Yes
John  age 7   b in c  Yes
William  age 4   b in c Yes
Mary  age 1  b  in c Yes
