This is a strange request I realise but we’ve just found this photo amongst my grandads things. It certainly doesn’t look much like Scotland where my grandads family moved to.
Does anyone think it could be of Lithunia. Apologies for my ignorance but I’ve got no idea if it could look like it or not.
It has what looks like ‘The Mall Marascar’ written on it but I could be reading this wrong. Any thoughts?
Thanks!

Is that a horse and cart and is it coming towards us? If so then it's not Scotland. Wrong side of the road.
The hanging lamp is typical of the old lamps that used to hang here in Poland/Eastern Europe.
The trees might be a clue, if someone knows what they are. They are not typical for my location.
The road is in good condition, but with no markings. This might give some sort of clue. Also the road is not cobbles, which (rightly or wrongly) I didn't expect.
Is Marascar a place name ?

someone else has suggested it could say 'Moascar' that was an army garrison near the suez canal?

I think it's "Moascar" - my grandfather (along with thousands of others) passed through there on his way to France in WW1 :)

Thanks. I think you're right!
