I wonder if anyone can help?
I have traced my family back to Samuel Churchill who was born in 1834 in Bristol. His trade was given in the 1861 census as Pawnbroker and Importer of musical instruments. At this time he was living with his brother, William, and his mother Martha, a widow.
My problem is that I can't trace any of the family before 1861 so it seems I have hit a brick wall.
If anyone can suggest a solution to this problem I would be very greatful.
Many Thanks, Paul Hill. Bristol
