Hi
Can I have a lookup of Post office workers please for Thomas Jones b Sept 1913
in Liverpool please ?
I believe he worked for the post office from approx age 14-15 until 1970's
except during the war when he was in the signals.
Thanks
Gill

Hi Gill
Not sure if anyone else can do this look up for you, but I got my great grandads records from the British Postal Museum and Archive in London. I had to go and get them myself. If you have a look at this website, it will tell you what information you need and how to go about getting the records.

My great grandad worked for the Post Office in Liverpool as well, from 1886 to 1928. If you know the date of retirement it makes it a lot easier to find the records. I don't think the Archive gets a lot of visitors and they are very helpful.
Hope this helps.

You can often trace the career of someone who worked for the Post Office in the London Gazette as most of their appointments and promotions will be listed. It will take a little effort unless you have a very uncommon name.
