Any one got any suggestions, I am looking for a birth, got marriage death and army records but cannot find the birth, name in ? is John Thomas Hurd army records give birth as 16/10/1903,death certificate says 16/10/1906 East Bowling, his parents weren't married at the time father being Thomas hurd and mother Jane Maguire i have looked under the mothers maiden name and tried every permitation but still come up blank. (also tried Bradford record office)
Thanks :)

Hi
Are you sure that the Area of birth is correct, sometimes the mothers were sent away if they were unmarried, and the DOB is correct, Sometimes they lied about their ages so the army records are not always a reliable source for DOBs.
I would spread the search further afield if you havent already

Thanks for all that info the John Hurd for dec 1904 york is no good, I already sent for that and it was wrong. The one from Bramley may be worth pursuing, not sure about the Manchester one.
Thanks to all for help.

Hi
I have only just joined Roots, and have noticed that you have been seeking Hurds of West Yorkshire.
I also have a missing Thomas Hurd, I could not quite follow your posts,
however you said you had an unmarried birth, father Thomas.
Can you tell me any other connections, I would dearly like to find Thomas. :-\
Thanks Denise.

Hi Denise which hurd family are you looking for, cos there is a few in yorkshire

Hi
My Hurds originated in Wakefield West Yks, I am back to 1841, and have lost Thomas Hurd, he would have been too old to have a connection with your person, although one never knows.
Your birth and death didn't seem to match up.
Also my Thomas seems to have disapeared in 1841, possibly not dead, as wife is 'Ind. Means' on census, not widow.
At the moment I am searching every possible avenue.
Denise.

Hi there,
I think we had contact a while ago, re birth of John Thomas Hurd.
Did you find out anything?
Over the last few months, I have found that just about all Hurd b.m.d.s in the Wakefield area come from the same line, which I am following.
If you have any Hurds in the 1800s in this area, I may be able to help.
Hope to hear from you.

Hi Deno
My Hurds come from all over Helmsley, Scarboro, Bradford, Sheffield and Leeds.Unless they are cousins or family somewhere along the line.

Hi Kim
Leeds Bradford and Wakefield are all very close, and the brothers certainly moved away, even when travel wasn't quite so easy as today.
Have you any details from a census, in this area.?
Where did he marry?
Is his father Thomas on his marriage certificate?
If there is a connection, I will certainly do my bit, to help piece it together.
I am now looking further into the family, and moving away from my original line.
