Title: Henry Smith & Mary Godfrey.

Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone has any information about a Henry Smith he married a Mary Godfrey. Henry was born circa 1815 and on his son [John Smith's] death certificate it states that his occupation was a Policeman.
I'd be grateful for any information , thanks.

Sorry, I have no idea? But I think his son John was born in Gloucster.

When was John born? Hopefully the family will appear together on one of the censuses.

Going by John's death certificate, he was born in 1839 or thereabouts, he died in 1913 aged 74. In the 1891 Census, it said he was born in Gloucester, England.

I managed to find a Henry Smith [Police] aged 25 at an Inn on High Street, Kingsbridge, Wiltshire, in the 1841 Census. But he was alone no family with him, but I don't know if this would be the Henry Smith I'm looking for or not, strange why he was at an Inn, if it is him, where was his wife and child [or children]? :(
It said he was born in Wiltshire.

I'm not trying to be difficult here, but it is hard to find Smiths, so:

Where was he in 1891, and with who - who were his wife and children? What was his occupation? Does he appear on other censuses - did he marry in England? Have you located his marriage certificate? Where did he die?

I have both of John's marriage certificates, he was married twice , both times in Scotland, that is where I got the name of Henry and Mary [his mother and father]from, but I can't get anymore info on them, if England had a site like Scotland's people, then it would be easier for me, but I live in Scotland, and can't really get any info about birth's and death's and marriages from England, I can only really get Census information online, and that doesn't really tell much.
