Title: Photo clean/colour please?
Post by: Dartmoor on Sunday 19 October 08 16:16 BST (UK)
Please can you make this photo a little lighter and maybe add some colour?

It is the only photo I have of my grandfather, George Samuel Davies.  It was taken around 1930 when he was about 60 years old and dying of TB.

All help much appreciated!

Hannah

George looks a lot clearer in your clever prints.

Thank you Terry & Mudge!!!   :D

Here is a coloring for you Hannah.  I left the roughness of the old photograph, it seemed to give it a bit of 'life' to me.  Anyways, if there is something you would like changed, like the color, let me know.  It's very quick and painfree.

Granddad looks absolutely stunning in colour!

Thank you for your hard work, mlmaxey, it's much appreciated!  ;D

I'm not sure if he had blue or brown eyes as they look quite dark on the photo?  Some of his children have blue eyes, some brown.

I never realised that he had a broken nose and a broken tooth.  He must have had a rough time somewhere.  Seeing the detail is incredible.  I love it!

Thanks Judy, it's hard for me to guess what colors would have been worn since everything is b&w...maybe I should do some research and see what was available then.

Hannah, well, let's try brown eyes then with a brown coat to match.

Hi mimaxey  ;)

That's brill! Personally I think the brown eyes suit him better, but it is great for Dartmoor to have the choice!

Well done!!

Judy  ;)

Our posts crossed!  Not ignoring you!  ;D ;D

Super clean-ups!

How happy this gentleman looks, even though he must have known his life was coming to an end. How sad!

Thanks again mlmaxey!

Granddad looks brilliant with either blue or brown eyes.  I'll ask my older relatives to see if they can remember what colour his eyes were.  Sadly he died of TB in 1930 when my Dad was just two years old.  This is a great way to remember him.
