Hi Sue

Thank you, yes the right one and it solves a bit of a puzzle, he ws born Wadhurst not Burwash hence I don't have his baptism in the Burwash register.  Haha

I have a brilliant book - the diaries of John Coker Egerton Rev of Burwash 1857-1888 and I am attempting to go through and mark all those in my family tree.  The death of this Thomas in 1859 did not fit with the details I had of a Thomas who according to my records died in 1833.   ;D ;D But both were born same year.

Oh and the fact he had a "housekeeper" fits, the Rev describes how they were living together, not married and so he felt uncomfortable doing the funeral service for one in such sin  ::) ::)
