I have just come back from the LMA and got marriage details for Hannah Collins and John Payn who where married in Southwark in 1826. John Payn was a widower and Hannah a spinster.
Trouble is now I can't find any details of Hannah on any census reports. She was born in 1800 and baptised at All Souls in Marylebone.
Can anyone assist?
Kind regards

I've found a John & Hannah Payne both aged 40 on the 1841 Census in Finchley - I think his occupation says baker - the ref is HO 107 Piece 663 Book 1 Folio 10 Page 12.
Also, a death registration for Hannah Payn in Shoreditch in 1840 in the 4th quarter volume 2 page 269.
These could possibly be your Hannah so may be worth following up
Good luck

Thank you, I do agree that 1841 census definitely looks very possible.
I wonder why they are not on the 1851 census, or if perhaps John died and she remarried as he was already a widower and probably older that her.
Any ideas?

Can anyone find a death for either her or her husband, then again I can look for a will for this ancestor and close the link.
Kind regards
