I'm trying to trace the parents of Elizabeth Broadhurst b. c1807, married Thomas Millward 13.10.1829. Haven't been able to find the marriage at Matlock Record Office - they were't married in Hartington so far as I can see. As a widow she lived next to some other Broadhursts in Hartington, who I've found on familysearch.org, but she seems to be a different line. Any clues, please? F

Hi,
This may be no help as you couldn't find the marriage at Matlock, but the IGI (familysearch.org) has a marriage between Thomas Milward and Elizabeth Broadhurst at Hartington on 13.10.1829. It's an extracted record, which are usually more reliable. It's hard, though, to think why it would appear on the IGI and not in the PRs at Matlock, unless the IGI is based on the Bishop's Transcripts for Hartington which would be at Lichfield.
I see from the 1861 that Elizabeth gave her place of birth as Hartington in c1807, but the IGI doesn't have the baptism records for that year online. You may have consulted the relevant registers at Matlock already, but if not...
Sorry not to be more help,
John

Oops.... following so many different lines that I got mixed up. The marriage was there, it's her baptism that wasn't. So although in the register she's given as 'of Hartington' for the marriage, she isn't there otherwise. Which is why I can't find her parentage. Sorry to be a twerp.
