Title: Completed Durham directory look up request
Post by: pollyflinders on Tuesday 14 October 08 10:16 BST (UK)
Hi
if anyone out there regularly visits the Durham records office could could they possibly look up a 1901 copy of the "Durham directory" within which there is a report of the accidental death of Private John Armstrong in South Africa 6th December 1900. A story similar to this has been in my family for 3 generations but I have yet to find my John Armstrong. I am assuming that the obit will give some family history and that maybe this will prove to be my ancestor.
Heres hoping
Yvonne

Hi Yvonne

As you have the dates etc the records office should be able to check this out for you & copy it for a small fee.
