There's an Elizabeth Dowding, 55, wife of James Dowding, 58, plus a George Dowding, 30, living in Clapham. James is a bricklayer's labourer, George is a bootmaker's assistant.
(RG10/698; Folio: 84; Page: 19;). Is that likely to be the one you're after?
There's also an Elizabeth Dowding, wife of Thomas, living in Brighton of the right age, plus one (with middle initial A) in Whippingham, Hampshire also wife of a Thomas.
HTH!
Cate.

Thanks everyone it is the Dowdings of Crescent road Clapham i am after. Elizabeth dies in 1871 and the informant on her death certificate is an Elizabeth Dowding. She lists her address as crescent road also. I wasn`t sure if she was a daughter or daughter in law. I thought that she would be living with James and Elizabeth at this time but obviously not only son George is there.
I know there is an Elizabeth aged about 15 listed on the census as being in Clapham. Could i be really cheeky and ask for a look up for her also?
Thanks everyone

Thanks Annie,
My family again. Is Elizabeth Sarah listed as a daughter or grandaughter? As i said in the previous post her mum Elizabeth dies in 1871 and as yet i have no Elizabeth in my family tree.At the time of her mothers death she would have been only 14 would that have been too young to be an informant on a death certificate?
I am trying to find out if the informant is her or if John Charles or Julius marries and his wife is the informant, i know who the wives are of George and Thomas.
Thanks again for the help

Hi Sarah
I seem to be getting my postings deleted because od breech of copywrite even though the last few I did not paste and copy for obvious reasons. If it even looks too similar they block it .. so there you go!!
Anyway if this just to let you know that i have looked at the census(1861) again and Elizabeth Sarah is down as daughter of James and Elizabeth. All her siblings are just that too .
Finally i had a quick peek at the 1881c and there is an Elizabeth Dowding c1857 Clapham employed as ladies maid at 57 Oxford Park road. I believe this to be the same Elizabeth Dowding.
Hope this is enough info.
Best wishes
