Kia Ora
Greetings from New Zealand
Home of the All Blacks!
I have recently started research into a greatgran's family (having done all the rest) and am firmly stuck as to where to look!
It seems ALEXANDER BOYLE (from Co Down according to Immigration papers ) travelled to NZ in 1864/65 with possibly 3 daughters Margaret 24 , Mary 22 and Sarah BOYLE 6years.
Alexander was born circa 1805 from his death cert in 1881.
This piece of info tells us his wife was Lucinda CEAHY Sloan.
A son William Henry BOYLE apparently travelled earlier , he was born about 1839.
Sarah Boyle was married in a Presbyterian Church in NZ and her father was buried in the Presbyterian Cemetery.
It is believed the family came from Donaghdee ??
Help what do I do next? I looked at Marriages online but cannot find a marriage for Lucinda Ceahy although there are a few Alexanders!
Any and all advice welcomed!
Thanks

Thanks for that site. I have looked through but cannot see anything likely with the names I have! BOAL instead of Boyle is a good hint though from the site so I might need to double check lter this am!
Might CEAHY also be misspelt??? Grrr!
Thanks again

hi marlene,
yeah, i was thinking ceahy was a mis-spelling also. i checked a surname index and it gave up nothing, not even an alternative.

i know there are more surname sites you could check but i cant recall them at the minute.

Hi I also thought Ceahy might be a misprint. I tried Leahy but found noyhing relevant.

Kia Ora folks
I checked Ancestry for names only last night and there appears to be one CEAHY family that emigrated to US. I'll check that later at the library for any clues!
Might be Ceighy I suppose!
This family appear to have left no clues!
I'm assuming Lucinda died before they left Ireland in 1864 as there appears to be no mention on Passenger lists etc!
Alexander was a farmer in NZ. In the same small area there is a Henry, Hugh and William BOYLE with families so I guess I should go back and check all of them as someone is perhaps missing a chunk of their family from Co. DOWN ???
Thanks for your interest! Any further ideas welcomed!

Just wondering if the spelling could be Boyce not Boyle?

DEFINITELY BOYLE on every piece of evidence here in NZ for each of the Branches.
I'll check BOYCE in Ireland for anything familiar tonight!
Thanks
