Hi

I am looking for anyone doing the McKissock Family Tree.

I have a James McKissock born c1907 married to an Emma Wark.

They had 10 Children one if which was my Mother-in-Law, who died last year, her name was Ann Magilton McKissock, and Its her family I am now doing, but as they were all from Glasgow I am finding it hard to do any searches.

James McKissocks mother we believe is a Katie Hart b. abt 1888

Any help appreciated

Hello Debbie,
I am researching the vairious Magilton families, especially in Ireland and Scotland. May I ask about the Magilton link in your Mother-In-Laws name?

Cheers,
Matthew.

Hi Salfordlass. James McKissock(ironwork labourer),age 23, of 70 Cornwall St Glasgow married Emma(Emily) Warke, age 18, of 84 Cornwall St on 7th Sept 1923. Emma was the daughter of my Great-Aunt Margaret Murray(1875-1929) and her husband John Warke(1873-1939). They were married in
N.Ireland in 1896. In the 1901 census they were living in Glasgow with their first daughter Charlotte.

James's father was also called James(1878-1930) and he married Janet Hart on 3rd August 1900 in Kelvin Glasgow. James was a dock labourer, aged 23. Janet was 24. Both were living at 360 Paisley Road Glasgow at the time. James's father was Thomas McKissock,a baker by profession, and his mother was Janet Stewart, Janet Hart's parents were Alexander Hart,a coalminer, and Jane Arbuckle.

I've been using ScotlandsPeople to research the families but with few images to view it has been difficult to work out which McKissocks belong to James and Emma. I found John Warke McKissock b.1924 d.1928 and William Russell b.1930 who lived for only a few days(He was named after one of the witnesses at their wedding.)There are other possible names such as Elizabeth Hart, Samuel Warke,Emily or Edward Brown but I haven't been able to verify those yet.  I can now add Annie Magilton to the list. Thank you!
