I am trying to trace my great uncles Frederick Charles Simes and Arthur Simes who lived in Gravesend at the turn of the century and then moved to "The Grange" at Horton Kirby by 1928 and then unknown addresses until their deaths in 1940 and 1955 respectively. Does anyone know how I would go about tracing their movements in between? I know that they owned a seed business on New Road Gravesend during this time and that Frederick married a Sybil Rackstraw in c1914.

Hi Catherine
Street directories and electoral registers were both published yearly.
The former give head of household only but are in alphabetical order whilst electoral registers are often in chronological order but list everybody entitled to vote.
Gravesend Library:

Maybe Dartford library for Horton Kirby?

Catherine,
I live in a road called The Grange at South Darenth, which forms part of the Parish with Horton Kirby.
The Grange is a Big old house on Holmsdalehill at the corner of Roman Villa Road. see map link below.
