Title: Look up Please/1891 and 1901 Census Middx
Post by: Sylvie on Friday 03 October 08 18:37 BST (UK)
Can someone please help me find this family;

CHARLES INNELL, before he married he lived at 1 John Street, London, Middx. (1881 census)

I can't find his marriage, but he had a son, John Richard Innell in 1885 at Marylebone.

I have looked for both Charles and John on the 1891 and 1901 census but have had no luck....

I know they stayed in the Marylebone district as John married there in 1919.

Charles's father was John D. Innell and mother Emma Innell, he had two sisters, Nelly and Alice. (1881 census).

That is where I got stuck!!

Any help would be much appreciated..

Had a bit of bother finding John D's marriage:  see what you think of this : -

Bearing in mind that John sticks to John D through all the census, I felt he would have used his middle name on the marriage.

Elizabeth, the eldest daughter - was 2 in 1861 - she was registered Q1. 1859 Shoreditch - Elizabeth Ann.  So - marriage 1858 or earlier.

Q1. 1856  Newington Vol 1d  Pg. 241  John Dialles Innell
but -  there is no Emma on the page - nearest is Elizabeth Ceely.

This is the only John D Innell marriage at all.

There are two possible deaths for an Elizabeth Innell - both in 1857.
Maybe he married again ?
No other John D Innel marriage - but - on free bmd there is a   -iall-s   Innell marriage in 1858.  And on that page there is an Emma Ceeley   :D  :o

The image shows quite clearly Dialles Innell - Q1. 1858 Vol. 1d Pg. 246

So it looks that he married Elizabeth in 1856, she dies in 1857, he married her sister in 1858 and their daughter is named Elizabeth in 1859  8)  8)

There is an extracted baptism on the IGI:

John Dialls Innell  28 Aug 1823 St Martin in the Fields
Parents John Dialls Innel and Ann Abigail

 8)

I think you've hit the nail on the head there!  Dialles is such an unusual name you must be right. It all fits doesn't it.
Super sleuth to the rescue....thanks Mum44!
Sylvie.

this is almost certainly my great great grandfather on the maternal side, father of John Innell (jnr) who was my grandfather

have it on good authority that the London Innells were big in the varnish industry
