Great photo Noel! Wouldn't it be great if one could identify one of their "own" among that lot of workmen. Thanks a lot for that. Bridget x

yes Noel, great photo,I wonder what the occasion was.
I know from my mothers stories that a lot of the building
line workers lost their jobs around then because of a shortage
of raw materials. my own grandfather John Owens worked for
mc inerneys construction company and the building of Donore ave flats
had to be abandoned.I wonder if any of the men in this photo later joined
the British army to fight in WW11 or like my grandad went to Chester to work in an aircraft factory.

Hi Noel
What a brilliant photo!"
And all those names as well. So many around this era have no names to go with them or very few.
I shall just dream of proving one of mine is the unnamed one!
Thank you for sharing it, Noel

You have named in that photo - J Kavanagh and Sean Kavanagh.
I know that Sean/John Kavanagh, who had been in Casement's Irish Brigade worked as a caretaker at the Airport at that time
My web page on Kavanagh (http://www.irishbrigade.eu/recruits/kavanagh.html) has 2 photos of him, but I cannot reconcile either of the two Kavanaghs in the photo to him - any ideas?

Hi, Taking the 2nd row from left to right number ten is ned Lane, The reason being he is my father. I have a copy of this photo,I would say that most if not all of them were given a copy. or purchased one. Fingal Independent done an article on this photo on the 15th of Feb 2006. They asked if anyone knew any of the men in the photo. I answered the article at the time. Ihave looked at your photo and will give it more time and see if I can pick him out. Its very hard when the person is wearing head gear. Also I found that a persons face can change quite a lot over the years. Keep up the search and the best of luck.

Hi again your sean kavanagh is the back row first person, His address is the Airport. If he was caretaker he must have lived some where on the site. best of luck

Thanks for the clarification on Kavanagh
