Thanks Pam, that's great. Olive was born in 1901, probably after the census. Frederick might have died - don't know about James, he was Bertha's twin brother, quite possibly he died too.
Thanks again,
Lee

Hi there,
Yes I share Barber ancestors with you. George Barber, father of Joseph G Barber, was the second son and younger brother of William Jacob Barber.
William is my gg grandfather.
I have William and Sophia Barber, nee Pillar as the parents of
Ann Sophia 1830
William 1832
George 1834
Thomas 1836
Joseph 1842
Mary Ann 1844
I have William and Martha Barber, nee Bishop as parents of William born 1805, other children being
Sarah 1803
Ann 1807
Hetty 1809.
I believe the parents of William may be William and Susanna Barber nee Warnes who married 1760.
The latter William above, I am seeking to establish if he was a son of John and Mary Ann Barber, nee Dixen who married 28/12/1740 Caistor, both being Yarmouth parishoners.
Their son William was bap 28/9/1743 Great Yarmouth, where his three sisters where also baptised.
I remain open-minded about my surmising of my Barbers before 1800 and if together with other descendants some verification is reached then that would be great.
I have a wealth of info from the 1800s on, stories, photos, certificates and war info, al Barber news.
I live in Co Durham, where are you ?.

hi edgar,
i have the same info as you and go back to the same time. i have the marriage dates for william and sophia and also for william and martha, also for william and susannah, susannah was born 19/09.1742. i think we are on the same lines as far as the imformation goes but if there is anything you require please ask and maybe i may have it.
i am based in yorkshire, i am not a direct descendant of the barbers, my grandmas brother married joseph georges daughter bertha, i have lots of info on this branch, stories, inquests and photos.
would love to swap all the info

Sounds good.
My email is (*)
I am sure that we can provide each other with info. My grandparents, George and Elizabeth Barber settled in Hartlepool, 1890s and I have been aware of a Barber family member who was in Teesside in the 1901 census.
Mail me on my above address, by the way, its Ed.
