Hi, Can anyone assist with finding the origins of John Warren [b1617] who died in Marnhull aged 81 in 1698. He was rewarded for being loyal to both King Charles the first and Charles the second with a 20 shilling award and a pension that he [along with three other men] received after 1660. The Reverend Thomas Warren in his book The History of the Warren Family, states that John came from Ashburton in Devon and settled ijn Marnhull as parish Clerk. His older brother Robert was heir to his father Christopher Warren who married Alice Webb in 1613. Christopher was rector of Ilsington and his son Robert went on to be rector of Maker and then Rame in Cornwall about 1668. John was born two years after his brother Robert [b1615] and it is believed that he was the one that brought our family to Marnhull. How can one find proof of this move from Ashburton to Marnhull?

To Judy,
;D Dear Judy, Please get excited, if you are of that Line George George etc, I can not only assist you greatly but can introduce you to your cousin in Canberra Australia, provided you are not his wife!! Yes we are related, but slightly less than you are to Peter Warren whose direct line is George George ect, I can give you all their wives and etc if you like and you will find that the Warrens of Marnhull are pretty well all related and probably your line are cousins of my line. I believe that one or both lines came into Dorset from Devon and Cornwall. This is for you to decide once you see what records I have. I do have the Parish records for Marnhull and for the place where your people hung out at Stalbridge a few miles down the track. I also have all you need on the Isle of Wyte crowd as well.
