Hi...I'm seeking information about my great, great grandparents Thomas McQuaid born about 1803 in Antrim, and his wife Rachael Cole born about 1797. Thomas & Rachael emigrated to Canada sometime after their marriage (about 1822).
Would appreciate receiving any assistance or information that you are able to provide, and in return, I am willing to exchange details that I've collected to date about the family with you.
Thanks!

Hi there AMcQuaid,
There were a lot of Cole families in Co. Antrim during the period 1848 - 64. One of these families may be related to Rachael and hopefully this information may assist you in tracing back to the 1790s. The URL below does not show any families named McQuaid

This next site will enable you to cross check the names McQuaid and Cole.

Not sure if you are still looking for info as this was posted awhile ago, but I was googling and this page popped up. I'm also a descendant of Thomas & Rachael McQuaid and I found this great web page:

i am in Canada, Thomas & Rachael were my Great grandparents on my father's side. Tell me how to privately communicate with you through this board, please. i am looking for their burial location at the moment. I was at their daughter Margaret (Maggie)'s grave site today and saw a number of McQuaid stones, but not theirs.

Members need 2/3 posts before they can use the PM (Personal Message) system to exchange email addresses (you aren't allowed to post personal information)- it's explained in HELP pages (link at top of page). Both Melissa_M and amcquaid haven't been online since 2012 but hopefully they will soon see your post and log in again :)
