Title: Ida Elizabeth Petty

Can anyone help me find the birth details of the above.  Ida Elizabeth Petty was born in Newark, New Jersey, USA in 1875 ish, her parents were daniel and sarah.  I have her married to Thomas Herbert Sidney Wilkinson on 1 Aug 1896 - but she was down as Elizabeth Ida when their son Herbert was born.

Her parents were both born in Staffordshire UK and I was wondering why they ventured across to the USA.

If anyone has any info I would appreicate it.  Her siblings were Charles (1872), William (1873) and Daniel (1878) born USA and Jean (1886), Sarah (1884) and Jane (1866) born in Staffs UK.

  His Father was David Petty & his mother was  Betsey

Did the family return to England? Are they in 1880 U.S. Census or 1881 English Census?

http://castlegarden.org/ shows what is probably Daniel arriving into the US in 1868, aged 21, and then a second time, Daniel, Sarah, and William arriving in 1874.
