Hi
Just starting out on my family tree, so very much a novice.
Just checking the boards out if anyone knew of the Miskelly family in Newtownards in the early 1900's - 1930 or where i could possibly find this info out.
I seem to have hit a brick wall around this time

Hi
I seemed to have names for Robert, Samuel, James and Lizzie Ann Miskelly. No DOB's.
DOB for Robert was approx 1900/1901, died approx 1959ish(married to an Edith), died approx 1976ish but no other dates for the others, and i know they had 2 other sisters called Agnes and May, but i have not been able to locate them.
Yes, there does seem to be a few Roberts as their dad was apparantly called Robert (or so i'm lead to believe) and he was married to i think a Lily.
I get confused my self half the time
Thanks, Kelly

hi kelly,
i cant help with anything on robert or his siblings but this could be their parents marriage,it could be the lily you mentioned;
robert miskelly married elizabeth fowels 8-apr-1890
ballycopeland presbyterian church
donaghadee parish
civil district of newtownards
there's no way of knowing if these are the right parents but would be worth keeping note off until you gather more information. have you looked at ros davies site yet?

There are some Miskellys in PRONI Will Extracts which might be connected- there's a Robert Miskelly and possibly others. See www.proni.gov.uk and then click onto Will extracts on right side of page (I searched using Miskelly for surname and Belfast for Registry).

Been a while, but i have managed to get a few dates that could prove helpful, sadly the name Robert follows tradition.
I have worked back to Robert Miskelly, b: 26 Nov 1865, d: 1933, married to Lizzie Ann, nee Fowles. Roberts mum and dad was called Robert & Margaret Miskelly, nee Flannigan.
Hope that maybe of any help
Thanks, Kelly

Hello there Miskelly family
I have put a message to you the the "has anyone Irish Ancestors" page.
I have an Irish Miskelly great grandmother born in Belfast about 1853 - Susannah. She and her sister Margaret emmigrated to New Zealnd in 1869. Susannah's marriage certificate shows her parents as Owen Miskelly and Rose McReevy (or McvGrevy) .
Are they in any way connected to your family? Susannah married Thomas Viner CRUNDWELL in NZ in 1872 and Margaret married Charles William CLAXTON in 1870 also in NZ
Any information would be very much apprecdiated
Thanks
