Hi Ange

Freebmd has a James Hall, 51, death registered Jan-Mar 1909 in the Guisborough registration district, which included Redcar.  Could this be your man?

Good luck

Something like that may have been in the Evening Gazette (I think it was around in 1909  :-\) Middlesbrough reference library has them and Middlesbrough Archives have shipping registers.
