If anyone is next going to Shropshire archives could they please kindly look up the birth of Adam Hanson, agricultural labourer.
Birth year from marriage cert when he resides in Longville in 1843 puts him aged 27 so c1816 (Father John Hanson, labourer)
1851 census quotes him as aged 35 born Rushbury.
1861 census puts him aged 43 born Rushbury.
1871 census gives gim aged 54 born Rushbury and
1881 census puts him aged 68 b Wall.
He is however one and the same so birth ranges from 1813 to 1816. His death in 1885 (aged 70) is also mis-spelt as Adain Hanson
I hope this is ok.
Many Thanks
Ian

Re Adam Hanson, Shropshire, looking for Henry son of Adam and Mary Hanson (recorded sometimes as Anson) Henry had a brother Adam,
Henry born in 1825, sister Mary Anne and a Mary, all three born in Wales. This Henry came to Australia with his wife Martha. Would love to here from you if any connections. Ruth

Hi Ruth
Our Adam Hanson was we think the son of John Hanson (b Munslow, Shrops 1786) & Mary Groves (b Munslow 1790). He had a brother John (b Wall, Shrops 1814) & sister Elizabeth (b 1822). Adam married Mary Evans at Cardington on 31st July 1843.
I haven't however confirmed Adam's parents or siblings as above other than I know his father was called John, an agricultural labourer. The other information I have obtained from other trees on 'ancestry'.
I don't know if there is a connection. Do you know Henry's mother Mary's maiden name?
I do think however all my Hanson connections were all Shropshire not Wales, although the part of Shropshire they are form adjoins Wales.
Please let me know

This Adam was married to a Mary Gwilt, and he was the son of an Adam. so far I think I have found 4 Adam and Mary Hanson/Anson. They moved around on some census, it shows Salop as a birth place, which I have told is Stropshire. Henry altered his birth date by 10 years to marry a Martha Sheen who was 17. I think that your Adam and my Adam as yet are not connected, but maybe in an earlier generation. Regards Ruth

Hi Ian,
I have John Anson/Hanson [b. Munslow 1786] who married Martha Groves in Munslow in 1815. They and some of their children are on the census in Munslow in 1841 and 1851. Their children included Benjamin, Richard, John and Mary, all born in Munslow - does this help?

Hi Dave
I'm not sure
I think I still need to look for Adam's birth details (c1816) . I know from a marriage cert that his father was a John Hanson but am not sure about his mother' name, so it could be the same BUT you don't mention an Adam as John & Marthas' child
Regards
Ian.

Hi Ian,
Had another look, I couldn't see an Adam in their family and they seem to have stayed in Munslow according to the censuses so possibly this John is not the one you are looking for?
Regards,
Dave
