Title: Clean up and perhaps a tint please if you've time. Mysterious Janet
Post by: jo68 on Monday 22 September 08 18:53 BST (UK)
Janet of whom herself and daughter no trace can be found. Postcards suggest she may have worked in an artists studio in Edinburgh for a while before emigrating to US, she's very comfortable in front of a camera!

Thanks for all your help Jim and David, you've done a great job with these I'm delighted with the results - so natural. Think I might have a go at playing with photos myself though I know it's not going to happen overnight... cheers Jo  :D : :) :D

How on earth did you remember a photo with the same bench in it? I haven't heard of a Mrs Eckersley, the two photos just happened to have been taken about the same time.  The other photo of Janet (with the bag) has "Glass Street, Glasgow" stamped on the back.

The bench in the other pic needed a bit of repair and I'd not seen one like it before, so maybe that's why it seemed familiar.

Don't suppose it could be the same studio, but spooky  :o  :o  :o  ;D   :D :D

PS ... I didn't see Perth's pic until the re-scanned version this year  ;D
Have sent a message to 'Mrs Perth Tiger' who I know from another site, to ask if she's seen your pic.
