Can anyone tell me where Garrowhill cemetery is?
I've been given 2 lair numbers for my gr-grandad and the lady at Highland Council told me they were in the oldest part of Garrowhill Cemetery.
She is now on holiday (I was last week so we crossed paths!) and she won't be back before I go up.
Is Garrowhill cemetery in Avoch? I can't find it mentioned anywhere so wondered if it was just another name for one of the cemeteries?
Thanks

I think this would probably be Avoch New Cemetery, it is situated at Gallow Hill.
There's a cracking map here that shows the location, zoom in on the image on the left.

If you look for Avoch on the Ordance Survey website you can see it there too.

Thanks, that's great.

I see the surname of interest to you in Avoch is Munro. I have the Monumental Inscriptions booklet from the Old Churchyard, Avoch and there are many Munros listed with inscriptions. If this is of any good to you please let me know and I will do my best to help. Torrygirl
