I'm looking for information on Timothy Clifford from CastleIsland, Co. Kerry. I believe he married Margaret O'Reilly. They had a son Patrick born 16 March, 1823. Patrick came to America around 1853 with his wife Mary Bennett from New Market, Co. Cork. Any info on the Cliffords from this area would be greatly appreciated. Also, the family was Catholic.
Thanks,
Sara

Not sure if it relevant but I have a John Clifford & Margaret O'Shea married around 1830 Newmarket Co.Cork.
Their daughter Ellen married Timothy O'Connell.
I believe there may have being some connection to Kerry but before records started. Argh!!
I will have a look in my files see can I find anything for you.

Sara,
Patrick Timothy Clifford and Mary Bennett Clifford were by Great-Great-grandparents. I've been helping my parents pull together info on PT.
My dad grew up in Valpo and I lived there after I was married from 1986-1978. Please feel free to contact me. Maybe we can share some info.

Lisa,
Patrick and Mary were my Great-great-great grandparents. My Grandfather was John Bennett Clifford and his parents were Edward and Minnie (Sego) Clifford. Edward's parents were John Bennett and Della. I'll send you my e-mail address in a PM. Please let me know if any of these names are also familiar to your family.
Thanks!

Welcome to Rootschat, Lisa. You'll need to have 3 posts before being able to use PM (personal message) system and then you can exhange email address, family details, etc.

Sara ... I've seen bits and pieces of your tree and I think we are related. I am connected via Minnie Clifford who married Marshall Chartier. She is the daughter of John Bennett Clifford and Della LaForce. I'd like to get together and share some information. I see we need three posts before being allowed to send a PM so I'll try to write two more :-)

Lisa ... I would also be interested in getting in touch with you to share information. I don't have much on the Cliffords as my main connection would be Chartier who married into the Clifford family. I have recently come in contact with a Clifford who is looking for more information and I'd love to be able to share information with him and from him.

One last post (LOL) do either of you have the Chartier line in your trees or would my information be providing you with new information???

Shelly,
I do show Minnie Clifford being married to a Chartier with 2 children: Grace and Clifford. I did not have a first name for the husband. That is as far as I got with that branch so I'd love to share info with you. Also, I emailed you an invite to my family tree on ancestry.com.
Thanks,
Sara

Hi,
The best source for information on Castleisland, Co. Kerry (including Parish records) and on Newmarket, Co. Cork is the 14/15 volume work O'Kief Coshe Mang by Dr. Albert Casey. Dr. Casey did an extraordinary job, in the 1950s, of pulling together all of the family history sources for the parishes on both sides of the Cork and Kerry border. If you can get your hands on a copy of the work, you will find it invaluable.
Regards,
