Bear with me!
Isabella Bachelor (Born in Whitby) Married my wife's great great Uncle George Lewis Toes. He died in WW1.
She then married (as Isabella Toes) William Winspear in Guisbro in 1918.
I want to find out more about William Winspear and whether he is related to other Winspears of Whitby.
I have drawn a blank, can anybody help?

Looking at the 1901 census in the Whitby and Guisboro areas, theres half a dozen lads who'd be of 'marriageable age' in 1918.
I think you need to get the Marriage Cert so we can see how old he was - and his Father's name :)

Thanks Newf for your very quick response.
Do you know which records office holds the Guisboro archives?
I agree that is my next step

Hi Bill - not familiar with the area, but you can order the Marriage Cert online from the GRO with the info provided above.
http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/ price is £7.00
Just specify William Winspear, June Q of 1918, Guisbro' Vol 9d Page 875
