Bit of a long shot but has anyone come accross Patrick and Daniel Healy - half brothers born in Cork.
There father was also called Patrick and he was a landscape Gardener in Cork.
Both brothers were in the royal Artillery and married two sisters in Stoke Damerel Devon but I cannot get back any earlier.
1891 census shows Patrick in Stoke Damerel and a corporal
and I know Daniel married Florence Taylor in 1918 in Staffs, England and died in 1923 Stoke Damerel Devon.
abit vague but can anyone help?

My name is Jack Healey and I live in Canada.
My anscestors Patrick Healey born 1790 and his brother Daniel born 1777 left Doneraile, Ireland with their wves and children in 1825 as part of the Peter Robinson expedition.
I know there is a big difference in time between them and the people you are looking for, but I have so far been unable to get back past 1825 in Irish history.
Any info you have would be appreciated.
Thanks
Jack

Hi,
Patrick per 1891 was born 1864/5 in Cork North. His birth should have been registered in Ireland. For the early years there was an amount of non-compliance but on the plus side, the registered birth 1864-6 or so are in the IGI database.
There are 5 Patrick Healy from Co Cork, with father PAtrick also
03 JUL 1866 0494, Mallow District, Cork, Ireland
17 MAR 1866 0246, Ballineen, Cork, Ireland
06 MAR 1867 0904, Mitchelstown District, Cork, Ireland
13 APR 1865 0145, Cork, Cork, Ireland
24 NOV 1866 0140, Cork, Cork, Ireland
I would dismiss the last 2 as not 'North' and Ballineen is West in my book.
The only Daniel is 27 JUN 1868 0259, Kanturk, Cork, Ireland
but he could have been born before general registration began. Do you know when he was born?

Sorry for the delay been taking a break. Thank you for looking into it for me, gretaly appreciated.
My cousin thinks Daniel's brother Patrick was the one born 13 apr 1865. Can you explain why you think its not?
My mum has told me that Daniel's birth was 1877 and he was a boy soldier, dying in Nov 1923. He was 41 when he married in 1918.
Any ideas?
Thanks Again

HI,
Sorry my mistake. I thought you said North Cork. Must be the right brother then. If you get his birth cert, it should have an address, mother's maiden name. Then search the indexes for Daniel These are available at the Dublin GRO (in person or Roscommon by post) or on film at your local family history centre. (Church of the latter day saints) http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/FHC/frameset_fhc.asp for your nearest.
