There seem to be at least two or maybe three  Forrest families in Blackburn/Darwen As they all have similar names throughout the 3 trees that I have seen I suspect that they were all part of the same tree about 1700. Unfortunately I cannot get up to Preston often enough to find out. My GG was Margaret Jane Forrest, one of 7 children born to William Forrest( born 1800). There is another William Forrest born 1802 in Blackburn .

I've been working on my tree for 15+ years and recently come back to my FORRESTs after a long absence hoping that available online records have improved.

So while this is a very old thread, I would like to add my name to those interested in the FORRESTs of Mellor, Blackburn, Samlesbury and Preston.

You may want to add your research names to the Surname Interests  Board as it makes it easier for people to make a connection
