some time ago I posted a message to ask for help to find my mother's cousin Irene. My mum died some 30 years ago but left me a collection of photographs with no knowledge of who or what they were. I started researching my family tree about 5 years ago and one day when I meet them all in heaven boy am I going to tell them a thing or two.
My mother was born Dorothy Ellis and I had assumed cousin Irene was an Ellis or maybe a Cooke - my grandmother's maiden name. How wrong can one be. Grandfather was the base born son of Agnes Ellis- she eventually married leaving two sons to be brought up by her parents. She married William Massey a widower with children and they eventually had more of their own. One of which was Eve Massey who had a daughter out of wedlock by the name of Irene just a few years older than Mum. WHAT A TANGLED WEB!!!!!!!
My great grandmother died only a few months after I was born but it was all kept so quiet and I knew nothing about all this. but what fun finding out!!!!! Janet
