Hmmmm... men's photos are hard to date..if we could see the photographer's name a bit clearer, because I can't make it out... :P

The details look like C. Battams, Northampton, to me. Battams is a common name in the area.

This looks 1890's.The card style indicates this also I believe breast pocket handkerchiefs were an 1890's innovation.The back of the card may give more details.

Thanks to everyone who has viewed this photo and replied. I know that there was a company called Katterns in Northampton and when looking at the original I can say 100% that this is the correct name. Sorry, perhaps should have said that I already had that information when I first asked for help with the date. The photo is 4 and half by 2 and a half inches, but unfortunately is completely blank on the back. How old do you think the man would be? Thanks. Jo
