Hello all
I am looking for any information on Margaret Paterson. She is my Great Great Grandmother.
Margaret Paterson married a Charles Dutch in 1849, Sydney, Australia.
I have a birth transcipt for one of their children,(Margaret Dutch), it says Mother Margaret Paterson Birthplace Hamilton, County Lanark Scotland. Age 34, in 1860, which makes her born around 1826.
Any information or help would be much appreciated.
Thank you
Raina.

Hi Raina
There are 2 possible baptisms on the OPRs* in the 1822-1830 period- none in 1826:
2 May 1824 Parents - John Paterson and Helen Mechlan
5 Sept 1825 Parents - James Paterson and Agnes Wilson
Do you have the names of their children in birth order? This might help if any naming conventions were used.
Regards
Gadget
* these are only Church of Scotland baptisms

Hi Gadget,
Very new at researching family.
Do you mean Margaret Dutch nee(Patertson), and Charles Dutch' children? If so, it has on the transcript Previous Issue: Mary Ann, Elizabeth, Martha Living; 1 male 2 females deceased. That's all I have about Margaret Paterson. I guess these children were born in Australia.
Her husband Charles Dutch was born in Salisbury Wiltshire, England.
Thanks
Raina

Oh dear :-\
If she used any naming conventions her first daughter would have been for her mother.
Do you have any idea of when she went to Australia.? Would she have been in UK in 1841?

Hi Raina
Have only just joined the rootschat and noticed your questions re Dutch/Paterson/Cadby families. Charles Dutch and Margaret Paterson were my GGGrandparents. They had a daughter Ellen who married John Riddle - his mother was Ann Cadby-daughter of George and I believe sister of Elizabeth.George was a soldier in Sydney NSW. I have a little bit of info on Charles if you want it.
Hope I can help :-*
