Hi,
If anyone recognises any of these people, I'd love to hear from you. The two people celebrating their wedding anniversary are my great grandparents, Peter Grant Raitt and Jane Milne. Seated on the right hand side is their daughter, Ethel, my grandmother. The others are all sons and daughters of Peter and Jane but although I know their names, I don't know which is which. I hope there is someone out there who is interested in this family.

There are only 19 Raitts in the North East Phone Book.Perhaps it may be worthwhile checking if any of them are your relatives.

I am sure some of my extended family are still there and I have met one person who is also researching the family, though we are only distantly related ( from way back before the people on the photo)
I am a bit shy about contacting people unless I know they are interested in family history which is why I thought doing it this way might reach the like-minded ones.
Thanks for the suggestion though, I can always check the directories without doing anything more! ;D

Hi Genjen,
I have a very small connection to the Raitt Family in Aberdeen.
My 4 x great grandmother's (Hellen/Ellen King) second marrriage was to a Peter Raitt b 1813. They married at St Nicholas, 7th Sept 1854. I believe they had at least 2 sons Peter b 1855 and William b 1860.
I havent done a lot on this branch as my line is through her daughter Helen King Main or Raitt by her first husband.

hi Genjen,
I am desperate to find a connection and more information on my Raitt....
I have Jane Raitt born about 1781 Aberdeenshire. She married Robert Russel. I am struggling to find any more information about her - she is aged 50 in the 1841 cenus and living in John Street,Aberdeen. In the 1851 census she is aged 65 living at Spring Gardens Aberdeen. I have details of all their children but can't find any further Raitt information.
Do you have any connection?
Thanks
Lindsay

Hi Lindsay,
She isn't in my tree at the moment but if she was born around the Aberdeen area, there is a good chance of her fitting in somewhere. Mine came from the Belhelvie area.
Do you know when and where she died? It would be so useful if it were after 1855 and still in Scotland.
