Hi pickles,
Found this on FreeBMD:
Marriages:
Thomas Oliver Jun 1924 Blean 2a 2244
Bride: Caroline E Nurse
Is this your man? If so copy of the marriage certificate should show the name of his father.
There are 3 possible Thomas Oliver births in 1900; 2 registered in SepQ and 1 in DecemberQ.

Hi Pickles have you got any other info?
I have an Uncle Tom Oliver (brother of my Nan, sadly both deceased now) His wife was known to me as Auntie Carrie, I have somewhere her proper name if you have some more details I'll try and dig them out.
Kind Regards

hi sorry i cant remember much except for they lived in clapham many moons ago he was in the army i think and some relatives went over to new zealand i think ??
-
Well that certainly sounds like my Great Uncle Tom.
He was born 9th August 1905 in Smeeth Kent and died in 1972. He married Caroline Nurse in 1924.
He had a sister (my nan) Alice Mary born January 1910.
Thier parents were :-
Thomas born November 1873 Dover & died aged 72 on 27th Jun 1945. He married Alice Elizabeth Munn in 1904 I haven't yet got their marraige details but I have the banns that were read in St Mary the Virgin Church Brabourne in October. Thomas noted as from the parish of Smeeth and Alice from Brabourne.
If I can help further just shout.
Kind regards

-
Yes 5 children, 4 of them theirs another one they raised as theirs.
Tom, Bill, Vera, Joan and we knew the other one as kids very fondly as Dilly.
-
yer it sure sounds the same although i remember him as billy they lived at clapham and then nan had to move from that house to as far as i remember was a flat and they had a dog named fitz ring any bells
-
Yeah they called him Bill when we got older but we still think of him as Dilly. And Blimey!! yea I forgot about the sausage dog, although I shouldn't their visits to us always involved Fitz and I was terrified of dogs lol!!
They'd go on holiday every year o hastings too, we used to go on a day trip to visit them there every year.
So how are you related?

Hi they used to live in 1 Fitzepatrick (not sure if road or street) and Auntie Carrie moved to 141 Stonhouse street Clapham, I know she moved again but not sure where, I'll ask my mum.
Uncle Tom was my Nan's brother, so Great Uncle Tom to me really.

It was Fitzwilliam Road not fitzpatrick, (just spoke to my mum LOL)

The pub was in th high street, called the Jenny Lind, my mum thinks they became friends of the people that owned it because they visited and stayed there so often.

ok il look out for the pub next time im down there yer the address in london rings a bell now , it was a lovely house in clapham cold going to the toilet outside though with all the spiders and remember going to the park down the road where they used to have remote control boats god all the memories come back a !!
-
I know, it's strange isn't it. I was in Hastings a couple of weeks ago, I tried to find the pub, but couldn't remember at the time what it was called. We also have photos on the sea front when we was all kids, it's changed a little bit since then.
Are you Joans granddaughter?
I don't suppose you know were Billy (Dilly) is now? We would love to track him down.
