Hi all
I've been trying to find out when my Great Grandfather died but so far have had no luck. I wonder it someone could help?
His name was Thomas Henry Niblock and I know that he was born in Templecorran, Larne, in 1878. He must have left there because he married Victoria Eveline Radcliffe in 1905 in Banbridge, Down. They had only one child, Kathleen Florence Niblock born in 1906. She was my Grandmother and, as far as we know, did not remember her father. So I presume he died not long after her birth. But I've found nothing.
If anyone is able to help I'd love to hear from you.
Many thanks
Phil

Have you tried the Latter Day Saints (LDS) Family History Centres?
http://www.familysearch.org/eng/library/FHC/frameset_fhc.asp
The larger of these have the microfiches of BMDs for Ireland. Give your nearest one a ring, and see what they say. I know Liverpool has them, as I phoned last week.

I have a Niblock connection to my Ancestors, Charles Niblock married a sister of my g-g-grandmother around 1900 in Dublin City, as far as I remember his father was a Johnstone Niblock from Co. Cavan.
not sure theres any connection - but I dont come across many Niblocks!

Suggest you check 2 places on PRONI website for Thomas Henry Niblock.
1. Will extracts- go up to 1900s. If he's listed you'll get date of death and a few other bits of information.
2. 1912 Ulster Covenant if you think he or wife would have signed it which should give you an address.
Have had trouble (AGAIN) with PRONI so just keep trying until they fix it.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions.
Silvery: I haven't tried the LDS Family History Centres - I'll certainly give the a call as you suggest, though a search of the LDS website has revealed only his birth.
Shanew147: You're right - there aren't a lot of Niblocks around. I've found a cluster in Islandmagee near Larne and I believe there is a family of Niblocks still living there. My ancestors came from Templecorran, which is actually very close to Islandmagee, so there is probably a connection, and I think the family may originally have originated from Scotland. We have no records of a Dublin connection, though.
Aghadewy: Thanks for the suggestion. I've searched the Covenant records and didn't find him, though I did find his father-in-law's signature and since the Covenant was signed in 1912, I suppose it is possible Thomas had already died by that time. No luck on the Will extracts either.
Once again, thank you all for your help and suggestions.

Mary and Jim
Thank you both for your suggestions. I had fond those Thomas Henry's and I do know that my THB never came to England, it was his daughter, my Gran who came over in the early '40s. But thank you both anyway.

Hi Phil,
On the night of the 1911 Irish census there was a Kathleen Florence Niblock (aged 4) at 2 Mountain View Terrace Banbridge.
Here's the list of people at that address on census night:
Samuel Archer Radcliffe Head of family (aged 66) Married 35 years 6 children born alive 5 still living
Sophia Radcliffe Wife (aged 70)
Clara Sophia Radcliffe Daughter (aged 30) single
Kathleen Florence Niblock Grand daughter (aged 4)
Samuel Archer Radcliffe married Sophia Douglas in 1874
I have found 5 of their 6 children:
Margaret Florence B 1875
John Alexander B 1877
Louisa Jane B 1878
Victoria Eveline B 1881
William Leslie B 1883
I cant find any trace of Thomas Henry Niblock or Victoria Eveline on the 1911 Irish census. Could they both have been dead?
You probably have all these details already but if you want all the wedding details on S A Radcliffe / Sophia Douglas marriage or the children's birth details let me know.
I also found wedding details of 3 of Victoria Eveline's siblings.
regards
Dave
