James Memod b 1885 Bethnal Green,London, England, emigrated to Canada, Victoria, joined Army in WW1, in1915. Married Mabel Lily Mabbutt in 1919 in Fulham,London. They then settled in Victoria.
James Mermod died 10May 1948, and Mabel Mermod died 24 Apr 1957.in Victoria.Canada.
Mabel left a daughter born 1918 in Woolwich, England behind, who was later adopted. She did not know if James was her father, but believed he was.
This daughter's two sons would now like to have contact with any relatives of the above.

Are you aware of the son of James and Mabel who died in WWII?

I suggest that you look here:
http://www.raogk.org/bcolumbia.htm
and acquire both at least Mabel's death certificate and hopefully an obituary for her, which should tell you about any family who remained in Canada.
It looks like James had a brother and sister and Mabel quite a few siblings from the 1901 census, are you also interested in the family who stayed in England?

Have you got the two death records? If not the B.C. records show quite a lot of information. The informant for Mable may be a child which would be a start.
Please advise whether you have the records and if not, I will pick them up at the library on Monday.

Thank you for your replies, I have access to census for the Mermods, and Mabbutts.
Also would appear that James had a brother who went to USA, and have details of his son James Mermod, visiting his uncle.
I do not have details of the certificates of death of James and Mabel, and wondered if they would have had any children.
Will look up the sites given me re WWII.
I am researching for my two cousins, who always wanted to know who their mother's true family were. She died in the 1990's.
Thank you so much any information would be most helpful and I thank you on behalf of my cousins also.

I obtained the two death records. In both cases the informant is a daughter. I will PM you about getting them to you.
