Hi Elsie,no luck in finding a link with the Fawcett's of Eddendery, I see from looking at the G/V & Familysearch (LDS) there are quite a few Fawcett's around Geashill & The Island,Walsh Island (which  both are nearer to Geashill rather then Eddendery.)Be careful if you check out an address with The Island on it as there are a number of places referred as  The Island around Co Offaly. Also I notice that there are many variants of the surname at least ten differant spelling so it will always be worth trying different spellings of Fawcett, within a search.Sorry Elsie that I ve not been much help to you in your search, hopefully some one will come come along & be able to find you a lead.Regards Nipy

Hello Elise, how is the trail of your Fawcett research going?I've notice over in the next county Westmeath there are also a few Fawcetts  (not many ) there seems to be a family living in the parish of Streete  ( which I think maybe near Mullingar but not to sure on that Elise ) there was about 5 children  born between 1856 & 1862,also I found a William Fawcett died 25/1/1908 & his wife Anne died 7/5/1910 they are buried at Rosemount cemetery which is a small place not far from Moate Co Westmeath .This may mean nothing to your research but still though it's worth passing on --as they say you never know when you may hit a link--regards Nipy

I thanks for the message sorry for late reply not used to using this site and forgot my password.
There are so many Fawcetts in this area until I get a match I will never feel sure they are the right ones.
Fingers crossed one day maybe.

hi I've got a Sophia fawcett/fossett married to a catholic John Hyland   having children together in Philipstown ( daingean in the 185os and 1860s). It sounds as if they are linked.  Some of their childsren had quite unusual names for a catholic family of the time (Henrietta, Henry, George Stephen and Charlotte)
