Title: Wills
Post by: catwomyn on Monday 01 September 08 20:09 BST (UK)
Probably really easy & I'm being daft but how do I order a copy of a will?

I have the death notice thingy in the London Gazette 1894 by the solicitors for the executors, which has the info about where the will was proved etc (Liverpool).

Any pointers gratefully received

Hi - as this is post 1858 & England you have a choice - either by post from the Courts Service at York, or by ordering at a district probate registry - costs £5 either way - details addresses & form for postal requests on this link

You may find that your local record office or even the main reference library has an index of post 1858 wills.
