Title: Jane Cardwell dob 2/01/1832
Post by: whiteroselass on Monday 01 September 08 19:06 BST (UK)
I am looking to solve a query regarding Jane Cardwell born 2/1/1832 in Middlesex and her sister Mary Ann Cardwell born 25/09/1825 in St Mary Newington, London.

Both girls were born to a big family, all other siblings were born in Yorkshire.

Edward 1826 Wakefield died 19/09/1826
Thomas 1827 Wakefield died 12/8/1827
Thomas 1836 Leeds died 1/10/1905
Elizabeth Dec 1837 Leeds
Emma  June 1840 Leeds
Cornelius  Sept 1842 Sheffield died 25/11/1908
Arthur 1845 Sheffield died 1879

I believe there was another son William but I have no information on him.

Their parents are John Cardwell 27/03/1805 and Mary Ann (Roadhouse) c1805

I would like to know why the girls were born in London, did the family move there?  Edward and Thomas 1 were born between Mary Ann and Jane but both died as infants, maybe this explains the move.

What was John's occupation? in fact any information, where they lived in London etc'

Thanks for helping.

Hi
Im researching the Cardwell family also. My link is with Cornelious Cardwell. He married Jane Margaret Margrave 17/02/1908 Doncaster. They had 6 children Mary Anne Cardwell was the 3rd oldest and she is my great grandmother.
Any information you have would be valuable to my research from your post I think I have some info for you also. I live in Australia.
Looking forward to hearing back  from you.

Is this the same Jane Cardwell who married Leonard Outwin?

My Great Great Grandmother was Jane's sister Elizabeth, Elizabeths son William Fred Cardwell was my Great Grandfather and his daughter Marion was my Grandmother.

If this is the same family I would certainly love to keep in touch and would love to swap information.

Please email me on  (*)

It is some time since I last looked at the tree so bear with me to get my head round it again.

Just for the record I am going to the French wargraves at the weekend as 2 Cardwells were killed in action in 1918, one was my Grandmothers brother Edward and the other was Frank who I believe was a cousin of hers.  I also have some interesting information about my Great Grandparents and a prison sentence.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi
Your email was removed so I dont think we are going to be able to stay in touch by email I dont know if you can get permission from here to give me your email???

Ok yes it is the same family.
Who did Elizabeth marry as I have four possible marriage for her
July/Sept 1855 Wakefield to either William Mitchell or Francis Oxley
Apr/Jun 1857 Sheffield to either Thomas Ward or William Oxley

I have William Cardwell and Mary Ann Waterhouse as John Cardwells parents.
John Cardwell married Mary Ann Roodhouse

So we are related back to early 1800s

Do you have any photos I have one of Mary Anne Cardwell and her Clayton family. She was my grandfathers mother, Cornelious daughter. Cornelious was your relatives younger brother.

It would be good to find a way to contact you off this site.
Hoping to hear back from you.
